Aubin’s anti-sludge surfactant SS-940 is proven at eliminating acid sludge formed in the presence of live or spent hydrochloric acid. Our product development chemists have developed and tested SS-940 to ensure that it performs under the well conditions and temperatures required.
Our anionic anti-sludge surfactant blends are added to acids to help prevent the formation of sludge and emulsions during acidising treatments. Crude oils often form insoluble sludge deposits when in contact with acid, and partial and in some cases complete plugging of a producing zone may occur. Anti-sludge agents act as colloid stabilisers and were developed to prevent coagulation of unstable colloidal material present in some crude oils.
